Born and raised in Bristol (southwest England) UK, $uge aka brown bag began his career emceeing at an early age and soon became involved with other emcees which make up the group ‘Da Label MTG’ today.
Before the group and record label became official in 2002, $uge and the original members of the crew released over 10 street mixtapes and had their own show on a local pirate radio station in Bristol.
To date, $uge has collaborated with various artists such as King Aggi, R.E, Baker Trouble, TriggaDon, Uz and Jaide Green (with whom he performed their hit song ‘Gangster spell’ at the Eye Festival in Germany) and released his first official solo mixtape in 2010 entitled ‘Moving Towards Greatness‘. 2011 saw the subsequent release of the follow up to that mixtape ‘Keeping It Moving‘ and 2012 will see the release of ‘The Smokeathon’ mixtape.
What defines $uge aka brown bag as a rapper is simple – Character. His style is always street but he brings elements of humour and consciousness – It’s these attributes that helped him reach the live Battle finals with Professor Green back in 2005.
$uge has performed all across the UK and has shared stages with the likes of Roll Deep, JME, Nasty Crew, Foreign Beggars, Terminology and Coremega, whilst opening up for huge US acts such as Raekwon from the Wu Tang Clan.
